Youth

Gaby Wattam - Youth Officer

My name is Gaby, I am 23 and I was born and raised in different parts of this constituency. I have been a carer for my family for the past 18 years and in that time, I have been through the experience of not having the confidence to speak out for help and when I did no one wanted to listen, except Sheffield Young Carers. They helped me build the confidence to stand up and say how I feel, what I want and what other young carers want and I’d really like to take this experience to help build the youth voice in our local constituency.

I understand that the youth voice is well heard within the party through Labour students but not everyone can attend university. I know that the youth voice includes more than students and I think it is important that young people from all backgrounds are represented at all levels of the party.

I want to help contribute to our youth policy and help develop and organise our young members locally. If you’re under 27 and want to be involved please get in touch!
