Upcoming campaigning:


Wednesday 8th November – Keep The Guard On The Train. We will be supporting the striking RMT workers over Northern’s plan to remove guards from trains. We will be handing out leaflets and raising awareness of the issue at Sheffield train station. From 8-9am; and from 4.30-5.30pm. Look for the Heeley Labour banner.  Meet the public, defend the guards and defend the RMT.


Thursday 23rd November – CCG Public Meeting 6-8pm. The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield S1 4FW. This is one of the public meetings about the plans to close both the minor injuries unit and broad lane walk in centre. Heeley campaign group encourage as many members as possible to turn up so we can voice our concerns on mass to the CCG.


Saturday 25th November – National Campaign Day. More details to follow. The national focus is the budget but we will also be campaigning on the plans around the closure of minor injuries and broad lane walk in centre.

Thursday 23rd November - Heeley CLP Policy forum on the Economy - Labour's alternative to the Tory austerity budget. It will take place on Thursday 23rd November 7.30pm at St Mary's conference centre, Bramall Lane. The discussion is open to Heeley CLP members and other Labour Party members across Sheffield. The speakers to open the discussion are Jamie Gough, retired economics lecturer Sheffield University and Cllr Chris Peace.

The Heeley Banner will be at Eastern Avenue Jobcentre in the morning from 7am on the picket with PCS members who are striking against its closure, do join us if you can. Details of all upcoming campaigning can be found here.
